3 Years Of The SuPer Project

By Jess Matthews

May marks the 3 year anniversary of The SuPer Project. This project was born through a need for people to have access to reusable menstrual products. Toni first ran classes, teaching people how to make their own pads. From doing these classes around Nottingham she saw how prevalent period poverty is.

The SuPer Project was born. We wanted to run the same buy one give one scheme when ran during covid for face masks. Buy one give one enables us to donate pads to those in need in and around Nottingham.

Over the past few years The SuPer project has grown. We have taken on more volunteers, expanded our range, been interviewed by national and international news companies and ultimately been able to donate over 500 pads to those in need. We have also attended many events and have been able to educate more people about their menstrual and reproductive health.

Going forward we hope to continue what we have done and be able to help even more people. Our mission is unchanged in that we want to make sustainable periods accessible to everyone. We hope to be able to run more educational talks to people in the coming months and help people learn more about their bodies.

We want to give a big thankyou to everyone who has supported us over the past few years. You are all SuPer and we couldn’t have done it without you.
